Before watching the video... I thought a quiet place 2 was great.... even tho we knew the weakness of the aliens was they were still a threat... like the whole movie was great on making suspense thru the whole film i loved it
Also this movie gave me major The last of us vibes

I enjoyed the first half of the film, apart from they never properly adapted from the last one. At the end of Part 1, a bunch of the monsters are seen running toward the house from the gun fire, the second one completely looks over that. The second half of the film was good for action, but felt kind rushed, with some unnecessary plot points that were left dangling like a thread and will probably never be answered

I think what John Krasinski's advantage over every other horror director nowadays while making these movies is that he actually chose to focus on humanity reaching absolute despair during the apocalypse, instead of just wanting to add in jumpscares, gore and monster concepts that suck out most of the film's budget. Agreed, super talented guy.

Half way through the film I realised that since you cant hear in space its weird that the aliens that must have been on an asteroid or meteor for like thousands of years to cross their galaxy and then ours in that time evolved to only use hearing as their primary sense? like surely in the vacuum of space sight does you more help than sound XD

Sorry but this shit is not at all a 90 percent. Fails in so many areas as a sequel. There’s borderline no overarching plot or world progression by the time the end of it comes. No character progression or development for any of the cast. No exploration of the lore of the monsters, no further explanation of them given, their origins, motivations, means of coming to earth, nothing. Is it an entertaining enough movie that’s well made ? Yeah, and on its own that’s worth credit. But it doesn’t justify its existence as a sequel whatsoever because it contributes absolutely nothing that the first movie didn’t already. What the fuck was the POINT of this movie? I can see why Krasinsky didn’t want a sequel, it wasn’t necessary. On top of that the pacing of the suspenseful moments in the film was repetitive in its formula, with having the horror scenes mirror the two separate parties in the film that would always just happen to be going through some dangerous shit at the same exact time as each other. They should’ve alternated the moments of suspense so that while one of the parties was at ease, the other was being pursued/hunted by the monsters, so that the audience never gets a chance to breathe and feels the suspense constantly, NOT have them experience the same dangers at the same time in different places and then have lulls of nothingness coming from both of those groups of characters’ perspectives.

I understand why they made the weakness to the monster a high pitch noise but based on how sound works the monsters would have burst their eardrums just by being inside the meteor entering the atmosphere, maybe they had sound proofing but even then the explosion afterwards would instantly vaporize them and if not that burst their eardrums from the sheer pressure difference that creates such a loud sound it turns to shockwaves. ALSO SHOTGUNS AND REVOLVERS ARE SO MUCH LOUDER THAN A DAMN EARPIECE

The first minute of your review, ironically, still kinda feels a bit present in the experience watching the film. It's not as gratuitous as other horror franchises, it's done better, but it's a slow shift towards "and now it's a zombie film", there weren't any really original ideas with this one. Then again, I'm kind of saying this on behalf of someone I watched this with that HATED the movie, I still LOVED it. Gave me Phantasm 2 vibes how it picked up IMMEDIATELY after the original's cliffhanger and continued on after it. The child performances are still top-notch, Cillian Murphy is a welcome addition to any movie, and it's nice to see Emily Blunt and John Krasinsky back. Kind of a waste of Scoot McNairy and Djimon Housou though. If the sequel continues to do nothing with Cillian Murphy, you can add him to the list too. But the action is paced better, so that's good, the downside is more (and worse) cheap jump-scares. The heart is still present from the first film, this one is shot well, and it's most importantly still fun and I hesitantly look forward to the sequels, which from the opening moment, I knew would be the case. The opening truly HAD me of the first film, securing I wouldn't stop watching these. Just hope the franchising doesn't get too greedy. The first A Quiet Place is better, though.

I’m surprised to see how much i actually disagree with Charles here for once. The acting is pretty great but besides that the main plot is rushed, there’s a lack of tension comparatively to the first, and plotlines are quite literally dropped/forgotten about. For instance: the son’s leg requiring medical attention never comes back to bite them even before Blunt has a chance to help him. Also, the “crazed” people seemed like an interesting plot point that couldve restrained the main characters in a more interesting way from completeing their task, but instead they are dusted off in 0.3 seconds.
I thought this movie was fun for what it’s worth, but i completely disagree with a rating of 90, i would lean more towards 60-65.
